Fractions- Parts of a Whole

During maths we have been learning how to:
*recognise fraction symbols for halves, thirds, quarters, fifths,
*find fractions of a set e.g. what is half of 18?
*changing improper fractions to proper fractions e.g. 12/3 = 4 and 1/3
*identifying decimals to 3 decimal places.

We have talked about the top number and the bottom number in fraction symbols and how fractions are "parts of the whole".

As our maths books are getting quite full, and it was a lovely day, we decided to show off all of our new learning about fractions by drawing them all over the concrete outside our room.

Room 9-your mission: Tell us what your new learning has been while looking at fractions. Also tell us what activity you enjoyed the best: the mimio fractions or the concrete fractions.
