Growing Beans

This afternoon we sat out in the warm sunshine and planted some bean seeds. We each have our own seed which we will observe and watch grow into a yummy bean plant.
Before we planted our seeds, we took the time to read the instructions on the back of the seed packet. This told us some very important information that we really needed to know. Room 9, can you remeber what information was on the back of the seed packet? Post your answer.

WALHT identify important foods for a balanced and healthy diet.

Following on from Harolds visit, we then looked closely at the food pyramid. Each table group set about making their own food pyramid using pictures from magazines to show where they think each food is placed. From this it is clear that food is made up of ingredients from 3 different sources. Can you remember the three places food comes from?

Graphs made with Excel

We have been learning how to create simple bar and column graphs using the Excel programme.
Some clever kids emailed their graphs to Miss Shaw so she could show you what they can do.
What do you think?

After visting Harold in the caravan we spent some time analysing the contents of some foods we eat at school.
There were 3 main ingredients that we were looking for: Sugar, fat, and soduim.
Here are our charts to show what we found.
