Words Instead of 'Said'.

As part of writing today we focused on dialogue. We are learning about dialogue because myths and legends often have dialogue to help paint a better picture of the characters involved.
While we were looking at some examples of dialogue we found some words that are more descriptive than "said".Here is a list of words we thought we'd use instead.
Please add some more to the list by posting them.

Matariki

Yesterday we spent the day learning about Matariki.If you are lucky enough to see Matariki in the sky, please post a comment and tell us what you saw, when you saw it, and where you looked to find it.
During the day we watched the following videos. There were three videos. They are one of the Maori Myths behind Matariki, and the same as the book we read in class.

2010 FIFA World Cup-Soccer.

In Room 9 we are keeping track of the scores and results of the games played during the World Cup. If you watch a game, or know the result, please write the teams and the scores that they got so we can add them to the chart.

Blend of the Week: SM

During reading today, Leo and Mele wrote lots of words that begin with the SM blend. Can you think of any others. You may add prefixes and suffixes to make new words using the words you see.

Your task is to post any other words that aren't in this photo, that contains this weeks chunk.
Remember that you are allowed to add prefixes,sufixes, join two words to make a compound word to any words you do see here in the photo.

Celebrations

We have begun looking at different celebrations that people participate in. We have looked at groups and places we belong to, and have started taking a closer look at different cultures and the similarities and differences between various celebrations.
